   Government

CIIRC operates under the guidance of the Ministry of Information Industry and the State Council Information Office. The Ministry of Information Industry takes charge of the overall administration of the Internet industry in China, while the State Council Information Office takes charge of the content of the Internet information. In addition, other governmental organizations such as the Ministry of Culture, the General Administration of Industry and Commerce also provide policy guidance for CIIRC.

Law Enforcement

CIIRC has established favorable working relationship with law enforcement departments, in particular, favorable routine liaison is maintained with the Ministry of Public Security. By receiving public reports and complaints, CIIRC supports the work of law enforcement, and provides clues for combating illegal and criminal activities online. Meanwhile, CIIRC supports commerce and industry administrative authorities to handle the online business cheats and other illegal business activities.

 

Industry

Internet Society of China is a nationwide self-regulatory industry organization. The Internet Information Service Commission is an independent commission under the Society, with more than 170 most influential websites in China as members, and is supported by the membership fee and donation. The commission regularly organizes public welfare events and self-education activities for the members.  

The Internet Users and the public

The work of CIIRC has been recognized widely by the public. CIIRC website has become one of the influential sites in China, and most of the well-known websites have linked www.net.china.cn . CIIRC has received more than 30,000 letters from the public since the establishment, most of which come from parents and teachers. Those letters highly appraise the achievement of CIIRC. CIIRC regularly sponsors events and listens to the suggestions in the communities and schools, and introduces the Internet knowledge to parents, teachers and students alike. 

Children’s Welfare

Currently, the teenage Internet users in China have exceeded 60 million. With the growing public concern with the Internet safety for minors, CIIRC keeps close liaison with the educational institutions and endeavors to deepen the awareness of minors for safe surfing and self-protection on the Internet through various activities and events. CIIRC has established regular liaison with the Social Educational Department of the Ministry of Education, and jointly help minors to use the Internet in a right way.

 We believe that the family education is essential to the protection of minors, in particular, mother is the core of the family education. We have also established regular liaison with the All-China Women’s Federation and jointly probe as to how to create a healthy environment at home for using the Internet, and keep minors from the threats of different harmful information.
